In India, Teachers’ Day is celebrated annually on September 5 to mark the birthday of Dr. S. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born in Tiruttani, Andhra Pradesh, on 5th September1888.He was an academic, prominent philosopher, teacher and statesman.He was one of the most recognised Indian thinkers.He was an outstanding student during his school and college years.Later he became a great teacher. Dr. S. Radhakrishnan was a person who dedicated his life to educating others.
Dr. S. Radhakrishnan has taught in multiple schools ,colleges all over India, and teaching for him was a divine profession.According him, “True teachers are those who help us think for ourselves”.
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was nominated 16 times for the Nobel Prize in Literature and another 11 times for the Nobel Peace Prize. He died on 16 April,1975, in Chennai.
