Rinku Singh’s early life
At the young age, he had interest on cricket .He began playing cricket and joined a neighborhood club to enhance his talents. Besides, due to his family’s poor financial situation, Rinku was forced to work as a laborer in a brick kiln.
But Rinku Singh never lost hope in his love of cricket. He kept on playing cricket and taking part in neighborhood competitions. His skills was quickly picked up by a talent scout after he was seen competing in a nearby event.
Rinku Singh had played for Uttar Pradesh Cricket for the first time in March 2014 at the age of 16.In that match he scored 83 runs. He continued to lead the match’s scoring after his outstanding debut. He played fifty games in the format, scoring 1,749 runs overall with an average strike rate of 95.15.
On November 5, 2016, Rinku Singh had made his first-ever appearance in a first-class match for the Uttar Pradesh squad and played some productive innings for state team.Rinku recently keep up another noteworthy display in Uttar Pradesh’s Vijay Hazare Trophy match where he struck a scorching 44-ball 91* knock before Tripura.
The Ranji Trophy(2018 -2019)was Rinku’s breakout season, as he picked up 953 runs in 10 games at an average of 105.88 with four hundred and three fifties.He finished 3rd overall in runs Rinku Singh has participated in 78 T20 matches and has a total score of 1,392 runs with a strike rate of 139.65
IPL CAREER
Rinku Singh began his career IPL with Kings XI Punjab(Punjab kings) in the year 2017.But after only one year, Rinku signed an Rs. 80 lakh contract with Kolkata Knight Riders. It is interesting to note that clubs competed to hire the batter at a price four times his base cap of Twenty lakhs.
In his maiden season with Kolkata Knight Riders, Rinku Singh only appeared in four games and managed to score 29 runs in the IPL.
In 2023, Rinku Singh has played nine matches so far and scored 270 runs at a strike rate of 151.69. He has a best score of 58*(24). He led Kolkata Knight Riders to victory on April 9, 2023, against Gujarat Titans by scoring 48 off 21 balls, including five sixes in the final 5 balls of the final over.He had scored 474 runs in 14 matches at an average of 59.25 and a strike-rate of 149.50.
International Career
Rinku Singh played a remarkable debut innings for India in the 2nd T20I against Ireland on Friday, August 18 2023.The 25-year-old middle-order batter and finisher was handed his debut cap by Jasprit Bumrah before the toss.
